If you’re a therapist, healer or complementary practitioner and you have a web site but don’t have much evidence it’s really working for you or you know you want to put up a website – and haven’t got a clue where to start…

 WEB HEART will help you to build a powerful website. In fact a website doesn’t need to be flashy or complicated. A simple website which delivers an authentic message right from the heart is far more effective.

 This course is a result of all the mistakes I have made in this area, the hundreds of pounds and hours I have spent in trying to crack it and the knowledge I have acquired as a result.

MY WEB SITE STORY
For many years I struggled to fill my groups and workshops. I knew there was an enormous amount of people out there who would love my events – but how could I reach them?
I knew that a website was a powerful tool for communicating about my work to potential clients, so I went about getting on. My first website looked fantastic. It was designed professionally and many people told me how good it looked.

 But that was the extent of it – it looked good. It was well designed and it created a good impression. But it didn’t reflect in any real way the work I did nor did it communicate how I could help people.

 I made the mistake that many people make when they create a website. I thought a website was the same as brochure.I also was frustrated because my website designer wanted to charge me to update my website – and as I was constantly creating new events and so it really was not feasible to do so. So I took my power into my own hands and I got someone to help me to design a website.This was great because at least I could change it whenever I wanted to – and although many of my clients really liked it, it did look rather homespun.  Web designers thought it was an eyesore!

WHAT A WEBSITE REALLY IS

But I still didn’t know the first thing of what a website was, and how I could use it to build relationships with my clients and to help them to feel safe enough to reach out for my help. I had had marketing help from time to time which had only helped in a limited way because marketing for a service like mine was very different to marketing for a consumer product or service.I was also aware of people who were so called “good” at marketing, but they were all hype… They were very good a blasting their own trumpet but really were offering very little substance. Whilst I felt rather sickened at how successful their methods were in attracting clients, I knew I didn’t want or couldn’t be like them.Like many therapists, healers and practitioners, I operated through the heart – this is what I knew did the healing work. And yet I also knew I needed to be more business-like if I was going to be more successful. My assumption was that this involved being less heart based.

HEART BASED MARKETING
However I found the opposite was true when I discovered heart-based marketing methods. This not only transformed how I saw marketing but also played to my strength.  I discovered that I could be more business like by being more connected with my heart

And this enabled me to make a more authentic connection with potential clients.

I started putting these techniques into practice and instead of spending hours talking to people on the phone – a large proportion of whom never actually booked for anything, people were now booking for events and sessions just from the strength of what they found on my website or in my newsletter. They were enthusiastic to work with me, and in many cases I hadn’t exchanged so much as a word with them.

The more I put these techniques in practice the more I saw how well they worked. My events started filling much easier, I started working with more clients and my work has gone from strength to strength ever since then.

As valuable as the marketing programs were that I invested in, I was aware that many practitioners/healers and therapists in the UK would not have the budget to pay for some of these courses. Also most of the courses I had done were delivered over the phone and for me and many people this is not the best learning environment.

And so I will be offering a series of heart based marketing courses for therapists, healers and practitioners  passing on what I have learnt at an affordable price in an informal and I hope fun way. I aim to show you that you don’t need to be a brilliant writer or designer to have a very powerful website.

WEB HEART is the one of these.

It is divided into two parts.

Part 1 is a weekend workshop in which you will learn

  • What the purpose of a website is.
  • How to define your “niche” – the group of clients that you are best placed to serve – and how you can double or triple your income/clients just by becoming clear about this.
  • What is the essence of the service you offer and how you can translate it into web language.
  • The principles of how to build a heart based web site.
  • How you can build a very effective website without spending a lot of money, or even using a web designer
  • How to make an authentic connection with your clients through the language you use
  • The 8 essential web pages that will help to build a relationship with visitors to your website
  • How to make it easier for clients to make contact with you
  • How to end the cycle of scarcity in your practice
  • The basics of search engine optimization.

The weekend will take place in a private home with web access, so that you will be able to view a number a number of websites – and to gain understanding of the difference between a flashy website that looks great with an effective website that builds rapport with potential clients.

As well as absorbing a lot of information, you will also do work in pairs and small groups. Wherever possible I will be creating fun ways of absorbing information that will take it to a deeper level.

The workshop is designed for you if:

  • You already have a website but suspect it’s not working very well
  • You are on the verge of building a website and want to save yourself a lot of stress and strife!
  • You know you need a website but believe its totally beyond you – because anything to do with computers fries your brain!

Part 2 is a series of 6 follow-up training sessions for people who are ready to put these principles into practice. It is one thing to know the principles and see how they work in theory. And another thing to put them into practice and to apply them to your particular service. Getting clear about who your clients are and why they would choose your service in place of anyone else takes time and then finding the best language to appeal to them does not suddenly arrive overnight

These follow up sessions will enable you to receive support and feedback as you develop the different pages of your website. There will be only six places in the group so that each person can receive individual attention – and this will help you evolve your website into a powerful communication tool. There is nothing quite like having 7 pairs of eyes to represent the eyes of your potential clients and how they might respond to the content of your website. You will also receive individual attention from me based on my experience of what works and what doesn’t

The follow up sessions will take place fortnightly and over three months on the phone, and in that period it is hoped that you will be able to build your website, and see it go live. Even if you are not quite ready to put your website out, these follow up sessions will enable you to develop the content of your website so that when you are ready to actually design your website, you are all ready to go.

DATES: 6 fortnightly telephone sessions starting soon after the WEB HEART WORKSHOP, dates to be arranged between participants
TIMES: Each session will be two hours long
VENUE: We will meet on a conference call phone line. You will dial into a 0844 UK number
FEE: £150 i.e. £25 per session (for complementary practitioners/therapists etc)  £250 (if you are a web designer or in a more lucrative business) You can set up a standing order so that you can spread the cost over the 3 months.
