Please be aware of our cancellation policy before booking your course.
We want you to understand why the cancellation policy takes the form it does in language that is easy to understand.
The Sunflower Effect Courses are powerful transformational courses that require a higher level of commitment so that you and other participants can get maximum value from your course or workshop.
Most courses have limited numbers to create a safe and supportive space and to ensure that each participant can participate in the personal exercises that are a core aspect of each course.
Each course has a carefully crafted structure, that gradually builds over time which is why we achieve such exceptional results for our participants – and is also why we can’t admit new participants after the second session of a 12-week course.
This cancellation policy applies to all courses, workshops, introductory evenings/sessions and individual sessions.
Please be aware that if you cancel, you have paid for your place on that course, workshop or event which won’t be filled if you cancel at short notice or after the course has begun.
See What are the costs for your courses
Please also be aware that our courses and workshops carry a non-refundable deposit.
So if you need to cancel a course or workshop, please let us know as soon as possible.
REFUNDS
However, if you cancel a course or a workshop 14 days or more before the course starts and have paid in full, we will retain the non-refundable deposit and refund the balance of what you paid (less any fees charged by the card services if you booked online). You will also have the option to transfer to a future course or workshop which means you won’t lose your deposit and you won’t pay any fees. Or you can send another person in your place (they must be over 18). If the course is full and we are able to replace you with another participant, the same conditions apply.
Why we ask for 14 days notice? For most of our courses, this is the best kind of scenario for us. We bend over backwards to fill your place with another participant. We want to make it as easy as possible for you to rejoin the course or workshop at a future time.
If you give us less than 14 days notice, generally, we will try to replace you before the course starts. And we will inform you if that is possible. But we can’t guarantee that we will be able to replace you.
If you need to cancel the Introductory Evening, we ask you to give us 7 days’ notice. We will either refund what you paid (less any fees charged by the card services if you booked online) or we will transfer you to a future event. Or you can send another person in your place (they must be over 18).
What happens if I cancel in less than 7 days? We understand that unexpected things crop up. Again if the event is full and we are able to fill your place with another participant at short notice, you will have the option to transfer to the next Intro event. So the more notice you give us, the more likely we will be able to fill your place. We fill your place in the order of when you contact us. With a last-minute cancellation, it’s going to be less likely we will be able to fill your place but it’s always worthwhile getting in touch with us.
CANCELLING AFTER A COURSE HAS BEGUN
If you cancel after your 12-week or weekend course has begun, we are sorry but we cannot refund your course fees, even if you fully intend to attend a future course. You may be able to send another person in your place. Please contact us to see if that is possible. Your replacement must be over 18.
Why we don’t refund you?
We are a small business and we simply cannot run these high-quality courses, particularly in the current climate. See our reasons.
This is also to support people who are challenged by the course content and decide to drop out. If you have paid in full for a course, you are less likely to drop out and we have a money-back guarantee, so you can be sure of getting value. Every participant that sticks with our courses will see significant change.
We also give you the opportunity to attend an introductory evening, a one-day workshop or to book a free call to discover which course is going to be right for you.
If you have set up to pay by instalments you must honour the agreement you made when you signed up for the course and pay for the complete course. Please see Paragraph 8.3 of our terms and conditions of what might happen if you cancel your instalments.
Exceptions
However, it depends in practice on when you cancel and if we are able to replace you. If you cancel before the course starts or during the first 2 weeks of the course, we may be able to replace you.
However, if you cancel after the 2nd week of a 12-week course or after the first weekend of a 2-weekend course, we will not be able to replace you, even if we have a waiting list of eager participants. They will have missed too much of the course to join.
If, after the first session, you feel that the course is not suitable for you or may even impede your progress (this is very rarely the case), then get in touch with us. You will need to have a conversation with us on the phone to discuss the impact that the course is having on you. We may suggest doing some individual sessions or participating in some other kinds of work before rejoining the course at a future date.
We may approach you if we feel that the course is not suitable for you or that you may need some extra help. See paragraph 12.3. in our terms and conditions.
COURSE CANCELLATION INSURANCE
If you are concerned about losing money in case you need to cancel, we suggest exploring the possibility of taking out course-cancellation insurance. Or you could check with your home or travel insurance to see if you are covered in the event of a problem with travel, or if you are ill, or if there are circumstances which mean you can’t attend the course.
It is very hard for us to tell you that we cannot refund you, particularly if you or your child are ill or there is a genuinely distressing reason why you can’t attend. We would love to say “yes”.
We are a small business, and we deliberately keep our prices affordable and below the market rate because many of the people who book for our courses are on low incomes. We don’t have funding in place to cover these eventualities as our only money comes from the fees you pay us. So please do your best to cover yourself and inform us as soon as you can if you can’t attend, so we can do our best to replace you.
For the 12-week courses, it is fine to miss sessions without affecting the value of the course. If you miss too many sessions, then we may advise you to repeat the course at a later time.
IF WE NEED TO CANCEL
In the unlikely event that we have to cancel your course or workshop due to illness, or because your course is not viable, or for any other reason, a full refund will be made, less any fees that the card service charges. We do not cover any travel costs incurred.
If we have to cancel a session in a 12-week course, we will add on a replacement session if that is possible or give you a refund for that session.
Please be aware of paragraph 14 in our terms and conditions in case of low numbers on a course.
The No Moves Money-Back Guarantee
We don’t want you to waste your money. There is why we offer a 100% money-back guarantee if this is your first Sunflower Effect course. This course has a very high success rate for people who complete the course. Every participant comes away from the course feeling they have made a significant shift
If you have gained nothing from the course we will refund your money in total (less the small fee the payment gateway charges if you have paid online). See our full terms and conditions.
Commitment
Please note that commitment to the process is essential in order for the course to be effective for you and all the others on the course. This is one of the primary building blocks of confidence.
We’ve seen fantastic results with the people who are fully committed and willing to give themselves totally to the course with everything they’ve got.
This may be challenging for you, particularly if you have experienced a lot of setbacks in the past or you find commitment difficult. We will do everything in our power to support you in making a significant shift in yourself.
However, it is essential that you fully engage yourself and stick with it! You will receive support through the course to practice commitment and to break those old habits so that more confident behaviour can emerge.
The course is limited to a maximum of 12 people to ensure that I can focus on your specific needs. I want to make sure the right people are on the course and that the course is right for you.
It is important that you are aware that when you commit to the course, you commit to completing the course and paying for all the sessions (even if you decide to leave the course). It is fine to miss a couple of sessions: however, all missed sessions must be paid for.
