Data Protection GDPR and Privacy Policy

data-protectionYour privacy and protection of your data is very important to me. I aim to be GDPR compliant. Please use the form at the bottom of this page if you want to be in touch with me about anything related to GDPR.

If you sign up for the free chapters or the Making Moves newsletter; or you enquire about any of my courses through one of my contact form; or you book a course, workshop or individual session, I will obviously be collecting information from you in order to deliver what you have requested.

All the services that I use to store your data are absolutely secure (encrypted and all confirm they are GDPR compliant). All are very strict about privacy and spam and have sophisticated ways of blocking any attempts to hack into your information.

Here’s what I do with the information the service collects:

best book for building confidenceFor the free chapters of my book and newsletter, only your name and email are collected. I also ask you for the country or town that you live in as this helps us related to the future expansion of the Sunflower Effect Courses.

Currently, the courses are only offered in London, UK. There is a link at the end of each email you receive that allows you to unsubscribe – and to withdraw your permission to receive information about my courses.

If you enquire or book onto any of my courses I request your address, email address and phone numbers for the purposes of keeping in touch with you, along with information that we need related to your enquiry or participation on the course, workshop or session. Please be aware that we store this information securely for the purpose of supporting you on your journey to greater confidence. At at any time you can contact me on the form below and request for this information to be deleted.

I do not share this information with anybody else. There is no reason for me to sell, share, or give away any personal information I collect about you to anyone else – because the most important thing in my relationship with you, is trust. I would not get very far if I broke that trust that is such an important part of my courses, workshops and sessions.

There are two exceptions:

1. When you join a course or workshop you will have the option to be connected up with other participants for the purposes of mutual support and social contact. This is a very important part of participating and many groups keep in touch long after the course has finished. Participants are asked not to use this email group for chain letters, marketing or business purposes without the consent of the individuals in the group. You also have the choice to opt-out of this if you wish.

2. My assistant, who assists me with administering my courses, has signed a GDPR compliant confidentiality agreement. He/she has limited access to the data I store about you. He/she is also bound by the code of ethics of his/her profession.

For that reason, your confidentiality is also assured when you write or phone or have a session with me. I am a member of the British Association of Dramatherapists in the UK and abide by their code of ethics, which includes confidentiality.

Also if you participate in any of my events, I request confidentiality from all participants so that everyone can feel safe that whatever they share will not be talked about by other people outside the group or workshop.

Very occasionally I might share your success story in my newsletter if you are happy about me doing that, in which I will take lengths to conceal your identity if that is what you wish. I will also consult with you about this.

This is why also you will see against some of the testimonials, personal stories and comments made by participants, just the initials of the person. This is because these people’s jobs or public persona may be compromised by their employers, clients, friends, family or the public knowing that they participate in this kind of work or because they just don’t want their names bandied around the internet. Many of the reviews are verified through another organisation who have strict protocols to make sure the review/testimonials are genuine.

Certain aspects of this policy might change – but the principle will remain the same.

My very warmest wishes to you
